Who we are

A South African business doesn’t run on good intentions. It runs on being licensed to trade, correctly staffed, and compliant with the law. The HR Collective is the specialist partner behind that: liquor licensing, labour law, recruitment and payroll, handled by people who know exactly what South African regulation requires.

Why The HR Collective

An approach built for how businesses actually operate.

01

Practical

Advice built for businesses to actually implement, not theory that sits in a file.

Professional

Serious regulatory expertise, applied responsibly, across every division we work in.

03

Human

Employment matters are ultimately about people. We never lose sight of that.

04

Commercial

Every recommendation has to make sense for the business, not just the paperwork.

Frequently asked

Common questions, answered directly.

What does The HR Collective do?

We keep Western Cape businesses licensed, staffed, and compliant across four disciplines: Liquor Licence Services, Human Resources & Labour Law, Recruitment & Talent Acquisition, and Payroll & Administration.

Where is The HR Collective based, and which areas do you serve?

We're based in Durbanville and work with businesses across Cape Town and the wider Western Cape.

Is The HR Collective a law firm?

No. We're a Human Resources and regulatory consultancy, not a law firm. For matters needing formal legal representation, we work alongside independent attorneys.

Yes. We manage new applications, renewals, transfers, amendments, objections, and appeals across the Western Cape.

How do I book a consultation?

Get in touch through our contact page, by phone, or by email, and we'll respond directly. There's no call centre and no referral chain.

Who runs The HR Collective?

Marnus Leon van Wyngaard, Managing Director. It's a direct, hands-on operation: every engagement is handled personally.

About

Run by Marnus Leon van Wyngaard.

The HR Collective is built around direct, hands-on expertise, not a large firm with layers between you and the person doing the work. Every engagement, from a liquor licence application to a labour dispute, is handled with the same practical, commercially-minded approach.
